The Afforestation Fund (DR) incentive meeting meeting for Intensive Silviculture (SILIN) implementers was held in Serpong, South Tangerang, Thursday-Friday (10-11-01). The meeting, chaired by the Director of Production Forest Business, representing the Director General of Sustainable Production Forest Management invited experts from Universities (UGM and IPB), besides inviting APHI and practitioners from several Mangement Units to implement SILIN and financial study institutions (TIGFII).
The development of natural forest through SILIN techniques requires considerable costs, however this system has proven to have several advantages so that the Ministry of LHK will encourage the application of this system more massively.
This silvicultural system with SILIN technique has been proven to increase stand potential at the end of the cycle to 6x from its original potential, even with special SILIN more than 10x and proven to not interfere with the sustainability of existing germplasm.
Since the implementation costs are quite expensive, the implementation of this system really requires incentives for the implementers. One of the incentives proposed is the release or reduction of DR on timber produced by SILIN. This proposal will be formulated by the Team for the Acceleration of SILIN Implementation which has been formed through LHK Ministerial Decree No. SK.1 / MenLHK / PHPL / HPL.1 / 1/2019 dated 4 January 2019 (*)
